Notes for Jacob Ohmart
Jacob died childless. A letter dated Sept 30, 1862 from Samuel Heeter (Henry and Hannah Vaniman Heeter's son) to his brother Abraham, on p. 141 of "The Heeter Family Letters", describes how he died: "Jacob ohmart got kiled Very suden yesterday he was polling oak grubs with a yok of oxen and he cut them of about three feet high and then he fasont the chane on them and when the oxen puled the chane hook flew back and struck him on the brest and kiled him in a minot"

George Heeter's "Chart of Ohmart Genealogy" prepared in 1976 has Jacob married to Hannah Levine, no marriage date given (she born 1835). Lester Binnie's "Early Families of the Eel River Congregation" has him married to Louisa "Arnold" on 5 May 1853, and Louisa appears as his wife, age 26, on the 1860 census. (His widow Louisa (Howard) Ohmart remarried to Moses Arnold.) If he was married to Louisa from 1853 (age 21) until his death, then there is not much room for another marriage. Perhaps there is a different Jacob Ohmart who married Hannah Levine?
Notes for Louisa Howard
The dates of birth and death are from her gravestone, identified as Louisa, wife of Moses Arnold (even though Moses is not buried with her.)
Census
In the 1850 census (see Notes for Robert Howard), Louisa's place of birth is given as Ohio. But the wife of Jacob Ohmart in the 1860 census and the wife of Moses Arnold in the 1870 census both give their place of birth as Virginia.
