Marriage of John Arnold to Barbara Friend, Book A, page 59, marriage records, Montgomery County Probate Court. (on LDS Microfilm #1030835.) Entry recorded 7 Sep 1816 states "John Arnold and Barbara Friend were married on the 4th day of Augt 1816. David Hoover, J.P."

This marriage also listed in the IGI, on batch 7209607, sheet 50, film 820294, and batch 8533703, sheet 36, film 1396134.

1850 census of Randolph twp, Montgomery Co., Ohio, enumerated 12 Oct, lists on p. 393 as family #1760:
Barbary Arnold, 51, b. Ky; Susan, 29, b. Oh; Noah, 20, b. Oh; Moses, 16, b. Oh; Aaron, 16, b. Oh; Susana Minick, 12, b. Oh; Jacob Friend, 76, b. Md.

Susana Minick is probably a daughter of John and Barbara (Friend) Arnold's daughter Barbara who m. John Minnich, but both John & Barbara (Arnold) Minnich were alive in 1850, so it is not clear why a child of theirs would be living with her grandparents. If the Susan Arnold age 29 is the daughter of John and Barbara, then her age is wrong, as she was born 14 July 1817, and would be 33 in 1850 (but she was still single.)

The following household is that of John Weaver age 62 and wife Elizabeth age 61, whose daughter Susan later married Noah Arnold.

In 1860 Barbara was listed as age 70, widowed, with her son Noah and his wife Susan.
