Abraham was a wagon-maker. The majority of the letters in "The Heeter Family Letters" are addressed to this Abraham Heeter. His wife is usually addressed as "Cass" or "Cas", but some of the letters before about 1859, especially from Henry & Hannah, address her as "Caty". Some of the later letters, once his nieces and nephews got old enough to write, include postscripts addressed to Abraham's children. E.g., on p. 150, at the end of a letter dated 10 Jan 1865, from Abraham's brother Jacob, is a drawing of a quill pen, addressed "Mary Heeter Lydia Heeter Stephen Heeter Anna Heeter To Mary Heeter John Heeter Pery Heeter Elizabeth Heeter".
