Notes for Michael Frantz
Article on the descendents of "Michael Frantz III", by Elizabeth Miller Lane, on pp. 44-48 of the Fellowship of Brethren Genealogists Newsletter, Vol. 22, No. 3, Fall 1990. The article cites inscriptions of birthdates for Michael, his wife "Marian Elizabeth" and his 9 children from a family bible written in German by Michael Frantz, now in the possession of his great-great-granddaughter, Agnes Kessler, LaFontaine, IN. Although it has a great deal on his descendents, it does not have any marriage information for Michael other than the given names of his first wife. Mrs. Lane's article, as well as Our Garst Family, refers to this Michael as "Michael Frantz III", and identifies him with the Michael son of Michael Frantz Jr., but Arthur J. Shanks, E. Harold Frantz et. al., and Lorraine Frantz Edwards have shown him to really be the son of Christian III of Berks Co.

Will written 16 Sept 1833.
Census
1810 census of Botetourt Co., VA, lists on p. 623, line 7:
Frantz, Michl (younger): 2 m < 10, 1 m 10-15, 2 m 16-25, 1 m > 44; 2 f < 10, 1 f 10-15, 1 f 16-25, 1 f 26-44.
This does not quite match the Bible record, which lists 3 sons and 6 daughters, whereas the census lists 5 young males and 4 young females. Anna at 21 was probably already married, but both Susannah 13 and Magdalena 12 should be in the f 10-15 bracket. Perhaps the Bible record was filled in after the children were grown, and omitted a couple sons who died in childhood, or perhaps there are children from another family included in this 1810 household.
Notes for Hannah Saint
Pauline Walters has his second marriage to "Hannah Saintentoffer Goode, 25 Dec 1826". I think this is a mistranscription of a church record in German, meaning Hannah Goode nee Saint (i.e., Saint daughter).
