Frederick Figart: males: 2 5-10, 1 10-15, 1 30-40; females: 2 under 5, 1 5-10, 1 30-40.
This family appears in the 1850 census of Tuscarawas Co., Jefferson twp, on page 107, taken Sept 18, as family 714:
Frederick Figard, 48, Germany (farmer); Margaret, 47, Germany; Margaret, 17, Germany; Phillipena, 12, OH; Catharine, 10, OH.
Also, on page 98 of the same census, in Bucks twp, taken Sep 10, is Jacob Figard, 19, blacksmith, born Germany, living with the family of Adam Switzer, blacksmith. This Jacob is likely to be one of the 2 sons of Frederick who were age 5 to 10 in the 1840 census. I do not know what became of the other 2 sons. They may have died young, or they may have been living out of Tuscarawas County in 1850.
