Michael's name is known only from the marriage records of his sons Theobald and Johan Friederich. I do not have any record of his birthdate, and am entering it as "before 1684" only under the assumption that he was likely to be at least 18 when Theobald was born in 1702. (Having some date entered makes it easier to distinguish one Michael Gerst from another in the index.)
