About the Cemetery:
The Johnson Black Cemetery was established in 1919 by Johnson and Alvira Margaret (Hall) Black as a private burying place for them and their descendants. This plot was part of a 200 acre parcel of land purchased from Solomon Ralston in 1919. Johnson Black is the son of John A. and Rebecca (Epperhart) Black of Tazewell Co., Virginia.
Directions:
From Morehead, Kentucky, Route 32 west about eight miles to Route 158. SW on Route 158 about five miles to Sharkey, Kentucky. From Sharkey, South on Rt. 801, 1.8 miles to Blue Bank Road. Right on Blue Bank Road 0.6 miles to Ramey Ridge Road. Right on Ramey Ridge Road 0.3 miles, right on Black Cemetery Road 50 yards.
