His obituary in the Morehead News says Bethel G. Hall, 84, of Clearfield, died Saturday at St. Claire Medical Center. A native of Rowan Co., he was the son of the late George W. and Nancy A. Quesinberry Hall. Judge Hall attended school in Rowan Co. and later Morehead Normal School. After graduation, he became one of the first teachers to serve at Bronson, Ky in 1912. During his lifetime he was a cook for the Clearfield Lumber Co., managed the Clearfield Supply Co., and was parts manager for Kurts Auto Sales. He also served as postmaster for Clearfield for 15 years. In 1943, he was appointed as Rowan Co. Judge by Gov. Simeon Willis. He served in that office until 1945. He also served on the Rowan Co. Board of Education. Hall was a member of the Morehead First Church of God fo 62 years, where he taught the same Bible class for 56 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leafie Jane McClain Hall, a son, Paul V. Hall, Mercer, Penn.; two daughters, Mrs. Oleta J. Marshall, Clearfield, and Mrs. Billy Joe Hall, Mt. Sterling; four brothers, Oliver Hall and Harlan Hall, both of Wabash, Ind., Emmitt Hall, Morehead, and Howard Hall, Clearfield; four sisters, Mrs. Mahala Wilson and Mrs. Surena Hall, both of Morehead, Mrs. Florence Petitt, Bradenton, Fla., and Mrs. Laura Lambert, Morehead. Also seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Harold Collins, Don Stone, Harold Ellington, David Wells, Aubry Katuz Jr., Eugene Martin, Davis Ellis and Bill Richardson.
