Notes for William ("Billy") Banks
Most information on the family of William Banks and Polly Martin from Carolyn Banks Coyle, 1220 S. Carpenter Rd., Titusville, FL 32796. Her family group sheet also includes the information that Billy Banks was a farmer and a miller, prominent in county affairs, a veteran of the War of 1812, and that he had red hair and a small frame. She lists his place of birth as Gloucester Co., New Jersey, but Janice Kinsler Smith gives it as Philadephia, Pa.

Their children were probably born in either Patrick County, where the marriage took place, or Floyd County, where the family was living immediately before they moved to Carroll County in 1833. (I should look at earlier censuses and land records.)
