Notes for Amos Garfield Pettit
His WW I draft registration card, filed 12 Sep 1918, records Amos Pettitt, age 38, residence Salt Lick, Ky, born 12 Aug 1880, occupation farmer, self-employed, nearest relative Mrs Anna May Pettitt.

The date of birth from this registration is inconsistent with most other records including censuses, his marriage record, and his gravestone (although it is consistent with his obituary, see below.)

His obituary as printed in the Anderson [Indiana] Daily Bulletin of 13 Mar 1929, p. 16, stated:

------
Amos Pettit, age 49, 1619 Jefferson Street, died of tuberculosis today at 2 a.m. at the family home. The body was removed to the Clayte Sells and Son mortuary and will be taken to Farmers, Ky, tomorrow for funeral services and burial.

Mr. Pettit is survived by the widow and nine children, Chrisse, Sadie, Peaches, Ida, Lileth, Irene, Bessie, Elizabeth and Gerald Pettit, all at home.

Mr. Pettit had resided in Anderson for several years.
------

His stone in New Alfrey Cemetery says "Amos Pettit, 1885 - 1929".

I suspect he was probably really born in 1884
Census
1900 census lists Amos Pettit, age 16, born April 1884, boarder, with the family of Jed D. Cogswell.
Notes for Anna Mae Reed
The SSDI lists Anna M. Johnson, born 1 Feb 1887, died 15 May 1973, last residence Clearfield, Rowan Co., Ky, SSN issued in Kentucky in 1965.

The Kentucky death index lists Anna M. Johnson, age 86, died 27 Mar 1973 in Rowan Co., residence same.

Her name is on a double stone with Amos in New Alfrey Cemetery as Anna Mae Pettit, and the years 1887-1973, but she is not necessarily buried there. Double stones are often installed when the first spouse dies.
