The Kentucky birth index lists Mayme K. Pettit born 28 Feb 1933 in Morgan Co., mother's maiden name Beryle Haney.

Letter from Judith (Pettit) Terry of Morehead, 17 Feb 1994, says that her sister's birthdate is really Jan 28.

Her obituary in the Morehead News of Aug 5, 1997 says:

"Mayme Kathleen Pettit Staton, 64, of 25 A Staton Road, Morehead, died Sunday, Aug. 3 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was born on Jan. 28, 1933 in Morgan County to the late David (Hoppy) and Bearl Haney Pettit. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God.

Surviving are her husband, Arnold Boone Staton of Morehead; two sons, Joe Staton of Inez and Phillip Staton of Morehead; one daughter, Sharon Wright of Morehead; a special friend, Susie Moore. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Chris Wright, Doug Wright, Dusty Staton and Timmy Staton; three great-grandchildren, Austin Wright, Dustin Wright and Bradley Wright.

Funeral services were scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5 at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Guy McKenzie officiating with burial at the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Chris Wright, Doug Wright, Dusty Staton, Timmy Staton, Plummer Fultz, Denver Forman and Audrey Staton."
