Notes for Harlan Watson Hall
Rowan Co. birth records, on LDS microfilm #216839, list an H. Hall, male, born 30 Nov 1893 to L. H. Hall and Nanny Prayther, father born Rowan Co., mother born Morgan Co. I don't know what to make of this record. I don't know of any other L. H. Hall in this generation, but the mother's surname doesn't match and the date of birth is off by one month from that reported on later records.

His WW I draft registration card records Harlen Hall, age 23, residence Morehead, Ky, born 30 Dec 1893, occupation miller, employer L. H. Hall, Morehead, single, exemption claimed due to appendicitis three times, not operated on.

His obituary as posted on FindaGrave.com reported:

“Harlan W. Hall, 68, R.R.1, Ridgeville, collapsed into a creek and died early Saturday morning while hunting on his farm.

He was accompanied by his 6-year -old grandson, Robert Isenhart Jr., who ran to the Hall farmhouse crying that his grandfather was "floating in the creek."

A telephone truck containing two men, Jerry Riley and Charles Goodhew, both of Dunkirk, was flagged down by the family as it passed on the road. They applied artificial respiration but without success. Both later told investigating officers they had seen Hall sitting in a field earlier and asked him if he were ill. They said Hall replied he was "just resting."

Hall was a native of Moorehead, Ky. He had lived in Delaware and Randolph counties for the past 26 years. He was a retired employee of Ball Brothers Co., an Army veteran of World War I, and a member of the Albany American Legion Post.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Mae; three daughters, Miss Joanne Hall, at home, Mrs. Robert Isenhart, Farmland, and Mrs. John Chaplin, Houston, Tex.; four sons, Arthur, R.R.7, Harlan W. Jr., R.R.1, Redkey, Milton P., Kenosha, Wis., and James, Middletown, Ohio; five sisters, Mrs. Paul Bowlin, Indianapolis, Mrs. Chase Green Mrs. Ova McClain and Mrs. Chester Mark, all of Muncie, and Mrs. Ova Black, Mount Sterling, Ky., and two brothers, Roy, Oregon, and Edgar, Moorehead, Ky.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Piepho Funeral Home, with burial following in the family plot in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.”
Notes for Willnah Mae Davis
Her name is spelled Willmah or Willma in most early records, but both her gravestone and obituary spell it Willnah.

Her obituary as posted on FindaGrave.com reported:

“PARKER CITY--Willnah Mae Hall, 102, died Thursday afternoon in St. Vincent Hospital, Randolph County, in Winchester.

She was born in Morehead, Ky., and lived near Ridgeville until 1979, and then near Parker City.

Surviving are two sons, James L. Hall, Springboro, Ohio, and Art Hall, Muncie; a daughter, Pauline (Jo) Spade (husband-Darrel), Parker City; a special daughter-in-law, Jennie Hall, Muncie; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan W. Hall; two sons, Harlan W. Hall Jr. and Milton Paxton Hall; three daughters, Jeanette Hall, Anita Hall and Marie Hall; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in The Meeks Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Mark Garringer of Albany will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
