Notes for James Anderson Alfrey
His death certificate records James Alfrey, age 69, born 19 April 1870 in Rowan Co., Ky, died 27 Feb 1940 at Longview Hospital in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, usual residence Middletown, Butler Co., Ohio, widow, late wife Martha Johnson Alfrey, father Benjamin Franklin Alfrey, mother’s maiden name Jane Hall, both born in Kentucky, cause of death arteriosclerotic heart disease, informant records of Longview Hospital, burial in Middletown.

The age and birthdate are off by 10 years; there may have been some error in the hospital records. Also, there is no other indication that Franklin Alfrey’s first name was Benjamin. His gravestone has his name as F. L. Alfrey. So this may be merely an assumption.
Notes for Martha Ann Johnson
Rowan Co. birth records, on LDS microfilm #216839, list Martha A. Johnson, born 28 Sep 1859, daughter of Jefferson Johnson & Rachael Sorrell.
