Notes for Thomas Coleman Brown
His death certificate states Thomas Coleman Brown, widower, age 73 years 9 months 26 days, born 15 Sep 1866 in Rowan Co., died 11 Dec 1949 near Clearfield, Rowan Co., Ky, father’s name John Brown, maiden name of mother unknown, cause of death hemoridge of stomach due to arteriosclerosis, informant Jeff Brown, burial in Jones Cemetery.

His gravestone has the birthdate 15 Feb 1867, which is more consistent with the census records (3 in 1870 and 13 in June 1880.)
Notes for Polina Nancy Ferrand
Her gravestone has the birthdate 27 Jun 1968, but she was listed as 4 in the 1870 census and as 13 in the 1880 census, so she was probably really born in 1866 or 1867.

I cannot find her in the Kentucky death records.
Notes for Thomas Coleman & Polina Nancy (Family)
Rowan Co. marriage bond/license book 1, p. 78, records license issued 28 Apr 1885 for marriage of Thomas Brown and Pliney Farrand. Surety on the bond is by John F. Brown, permission is given by Lucinda Farrand for her daughter Pliney. Rowan Co. marriage register book A, p. 74, records the marriage of Thomas Brown and Pelina Ferrand took place on 30 Aug 1885. I suspect that there was an error in the latter date, because a marriage taking place two days after the license was issued is must more common than a delay of four months.
