His obituary in the Nov 7, 1996 issue of The Morehead News reported "Edward Eugene Caudill, 65, of 7240 Oak Grove Road, Morehead, died Sunday, Nov. 3 at St. Claire Medical Center after a long illness.

He was born July 28, 1931 in Rowan County to the late Allie Edgar Caudill and Stella Stamper Caudill. He was a retired owner and operator of Caudill's Garage and Body Shop, member of the Church of God Faith, a sportman, hunter, fisherman and ginseng hunter.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar Ray Caudill.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Manning Caudill of Morehead; two sons, James Douglas Caudill Sr. of Sandy Hook and Edward Steven Caudill of Morehead; two daughters, Kathy C. Eldridge and Sonja R. Quesinberry, both of Morehead; one brother, Jr. Caudill of Elliottville; two sisters, Lorene Lykins of Rush and Loreda Thomas of Morehead.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Kim Tackett, Melissa Caudill, Krista R. Caskey, James D. Caudill Jr., Miranda Caudill, Stephanie Adkins, Blake Caudill and Ethan Caudill; and two great-grandchildren, Kirsten Caudill and Austin Caudill.

Funeral services were scheduled for Wed., Nov. 6 at the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating with burial at the Ditney Ridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers: James D. Douglas Jr., Jackie Thomas, Michael Thomas, Darrell Lykins, Denver Lykins, Michael O. Fannin and Stan Stamper.”
