His WW I draft registration card, filed 9 Sep 1918, records Henry Thomas Scaggs, age 34, residence Moorhead, Rown Co., Ky, born 27 Aug 1884, occupation carpenter, employer Whibster Jessner Co. (probably misspelled), Portsmouth, Ohio, nearest relative Mrs. Minnie Scaggs, Moorehead, Ky.

Rowan Co. marriage book 6, p. 565, records the marriage on 8 Apr 1909 of H. T. Scaggs, 24, b. Lawrence Co., s/o Wm & Lida E. Scaggs, to Minnie B. Cox, 20, b. Elliott Co., d/o Wesley & Fannie Cox, at Wesley Cox's by T. W. Rose, witnesses Wesley Cox, Alonzo Scaggs. It is recorded as his second marriage, her first.
Census
1910 census of Raleigh Co., West Virginia, Slab Fork township, enumerated 20 April, lists on p. 4B as family #62/65:
Skaggs, Henry T., 25, 2nd marriage; Minnie B., wife, 22, 1st marriage, married 1 year, no children; Virgie L., dau, 4; Kidd, Peter, boarder, 26; Kidd, John W., boarder, 24; Cox, Richard H., boarder, 18. Minnie born Ky Ky Va, all others Ky Ky Ky.
Peter and John W. Kidd are sons of Andrew Kidd and Sarah E. Jennings. They are no blood relation to Henry or Minnie so far as I know. Richard H. Cox is Minnie’s brother, so he should have been listed as brother-in-law.
Henry’s brother Orlando is three households above at #59/62.
1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, p. 158A, lists as family #7:
Scaggs, S. C., farm laborer, 35, Ky Ky Ky; Mennie, 32, wife, Ky Ky Ky; Virgie, dau, 14, Ky Ky Ky; Vada, dau, 2, Ky Ky Ky. (This is the first I ever heard of Henry Thomas being called “S. C.”, but the age matches and the wife Minnie and daughters Virgie and Vada are too much of a coincidence for this to be someone else.)
