In 1900 he was listed in Peach Orchard, Ford Co., Illinois, as Charles L. Dehart, age 25, born Apr 1875, Ky Va Ky, single, servant, farm laborer, with the family of John W. Holmes, age 45, b. Apr 1855 Illinois England England, and his wife Sue age 36, b. Apr 1864 California Canada Illinois. (I mention the birthplaces of his employers only to show that they are no relation.) Also in the same househild is fellow Elliott Co. native Riley M. Bowling, son of James L. Bowling and Susannah Evans. Charles and Riley would later both marry Conn girls.

I have not found this family in the 1910 census. Perhaps they were in the process of moving from Kentucky to Wisconsin.

Dehart, Charles, 44, b. Ky Va Ky, farmer; Minnie, wife, 34, b. Ky Ky Ky; Vernie, dau, 14; Carrie, dau, 12; Sheltie, son, 11; Kate, dau, 9; Clements, son, 6/12. Vernie through Sheltie born Ky Ky Ky, Kate and Clements born Wis Ky Ky.
