Notes for Silas Mauzy
Bourbon Co. Deed Book Q, p. 509, 19 Apr 1823, records a deed in which Peter Mauzy and Sally his wife sold land to Silas Mauzy.

Bourbon Co. Deed Book T, p. 191, 15 Jan 1827 records a deed in which Silas bought for $270 total 72 acres of land in Bourbon County which belonged to his father, but he split the payment among his three brothers, basically buying out their share of their future inheritance. He also promised to provide a home for his father as long as William lived. See Notes for William Mauzy for details.

On the next page of the deed book, dated 17 Jan 1827, Silas and Nancy his wife sold to Peter Mauzy 10 3/4 acres for $100. From the boundary description, this is not part of the tract that Silas bought from his brothers in the previous deed, although it is part of the same original patent. It is almost certainly the tract which Silas was taxed on in 1821.

Bourbon Co. Deed Book Y, p. 387, 1832, Silas sold the above land to Aaron Barnes.

He then moved to Rush Co., Indiana, where Nancy died very shortly after their arrival.
Census
In 1820 Silas was still living with his parents, but in 1821 he was taxable on his own land:
Silas Mauzy, 10 acres on Rockbridge Fork worth $200, patent entered by Lewis Conner, 1 white male over 21, 2 horses, no slaves.

1830 census of Bourbon Co., Ky, p. 340, records:
Silas Mauzy, 1 male 30-39, 1 male 70-79, 1 female 30 to 39, 2 males under 5, 2 males 5-9, 1 female under 5, 1 female 5-9, 1 female 10-14. No slaves or free non-whites.
