Notes for Sarah Morris
Floyd Co., Ky birth records list Sarah Morris, born 14 Mar 1858, father Zackariah Morris, mother’s maiden name Nancy Triplett.

Curiously, they also list the birth of her brother Lee eight months later, on 18 Nov 1858, and he lived a full year, dying of croup, so he cannot have been very premature. Usually women cannot conceive in the first two or three months after childbirth. Furthermore, in the 1860 census Sarah was listed as age 3, and if born in 1858 she would have been only 2 years 3 months. Ordinarily I would discount the small age error, but combined with the short birth gap between siblings, I suspect that she may have really been born in 1857, and her birth reported in the wrong year. (The annual reports from the 1800’s were not recorded at the time of birth - they were instead compiled early in the following year from reports that were turned in during January by doctors and midwives, of all the births they had attended during the preceding year. Sometimes those birth attendants did not keep accurate records, or reported them in the wrong year. Lee’s birth can’t have been in 1859, though, because the report would have been submitted long before November.)

Her death certificate records Sarah Turner, age 66 years 10 months 11 days, born 14 Mar 1856 in Ky, died 25 Jan 1923 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, father Zack Rayer, mother’s maiden name Nannie Triplett, cause of death influenza, informant blank, burial in Bradley Cemetery.

Her father’s given name, Zachariah, has apparently been split here into two words.
Census
In 1920 Sarah is listed with her daughter Sadie, as Sarah Turner, mother-in-law, 62, widowed, b. Ky Ky Ky.
Notes for William C. & Sarah (Family)
Rowan Co., Ky marriage report for 1874 records the marriage on 1 Oct 1874 of William C. Turner, age 23, born in Harland Co., father born in Fleming Co. (? or Harlan), mother born in Letcher Co., to Sarah Morris, age 17, born in Floyd Co., father born in Fleming Co. (? or Floyd), mother born in Nicholas Co. (? or Floyd). First marriage for both.

The places where I’ve put (?) are dittos on the report. The counties preceding the question marks are the ones that would be inherited from the line above. (The residence and occupation fields definitely inherit dittos vertically.) But those counties don’t seem consistent with other records, so quite possibly the dittos for the parental birthplace fields were meant to inherit sideways instead, from the field to the left.
Census
1880 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, lists as family #46:
Turner, William C., 29, farmer; Sarah, 22, wife; Howard, 4, son; Mary E., 2, dau. All born Ky Ky Ky.

1900 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Morehead precinct, enumerated 25 June, lists on p. 20B as family #382:
Turner, William, 49, b. March 1851, farmer; Sarah, wife, 44, b. May 1856; Howard, son, 24, b. March 1876; Mary L., dau, 22, b. May 1878; Nanie, dau, 18, b. Apr 1882; Sadia, dau, 12, b. Jan 1888. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The birthdates are inconsistent with other records and not to be trusted3. Nannie is listed as single, but she married Alex Patton in 1897. (Identification of this Nannie Turner as being the same one who married Alex Patton is based on the fact that Alex and Nannie’s family bible107 recorded the deaths of Sarah Turner on 25 Jan 1923, of Howard Turner on 7 Aug 1960, and of Sadie’s daughter George (Howerton) Markwell on 5 March 1961.) Most likely she was visiting her parents, and her marital status was just assumed.
