His given name is also sometimes spelled Shelton. His surname appears as Manier or a similar variant in most records, but since most of his descendants used the Mynhier spelling, that is what I am indexing him under.

John Link is a nephew, the son of Simon Link and Mary Mynhier. The next household is headed by Thomas’s brother David.

1860 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville P.O., enumerated 11 July, lists on p. 109 as family #792:
Thomas Maneer, 39; Eliza, 38; Sarah, 19; John, 17; Lucinda, 15; Joseph, 12; David, 9; Mary, 7; Henry, 5; James, 1. All born in Kentucky.

1870 census of Menifee Co., Ky, Beaver precinct, Rock House P.O., enumerated 12 July, lists on p. 3 as family #19:
Manier, T. C., 49, farmer; Eliza, 48; David, 19, farm hand; Henry, 13; Mary, 17; Samuel, 10; Johnithan, 5; J. W. 22, farm hand.

Johnithan age 5 may be some relative other than a son, since Thomas and Eliza had a son John born in 1842 who was still living. J. W. age 22 is their son Joseph. The fact that he is listed out of birth order suggests that Joseph may be Johnithan’s father, but his 1874 marriage to Elizabeth Clemmens is recorded as his first.
