Census Notes for Henry T. B. & Mary M. (Family)
1880 census of Carter Co., Ky, lists as family #193/194:
Lawson, Henry, 31, Va/Va/VA; Mary M., 26, Ky/Ky/Va; Wm. C., 14; Robert, 10; Amy E. (or C.), 8; Ester S., dau, 2. All children born Ky/Va/Ky.

The ages are off quite a bit. Henry should be 33, Mary 36, and William 12.

I have not found Henry’s family in 1900 (nor in 1870.)

1910 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pine Grove precinct, enumerated 21 May, lists on p. 20B as family #303:
Henry Lawson, 64, farmer, widowed, born Va/Va/Va; James A., 22, son, single, born Ky/Va/Va; Jefferson, 28, son, married 3 years (2nd marriage) - but no wife listed, born Ky/Va/Va; Robert, son, 12, born Ky/Va/Va.

Since Henry’s son Robert would be 40 years old in 1910, the relationship “son” for Robert probably means that he is Jefferson’s son.

In 1920 Henry is recorded in Fayette Co., WV with his son Garfield, as age 75, widowed. His third wife Isabelle Springer was still living, listed in Carter Co. as Isabelle Fraley. Apparently they divorced and went back to considering themselves widowed from their previous spouses.
