Notes for John Morgan Goodman
His death certificate records John Goodman, age 67, born 17 April 1870 in Elliott Co., Ky, died 24 Feb 1937 in Crix, Wagner precinct, Rowan Co., Ky, widowed, late wife Martha Briant, father Jim Goodman, born in Elliott Co., Ky, mother’s maiden name Rachel Roberts, born in Va, cause of death pneumonia fever following the flue, informant Amanda Lambert, Morehead, Ky, Crix rout, burial in Briant family graveyard.

His gravestone in Bryant-Goodman Cemetery records his name as J. M. Goodman, with a birthdate of Jan 20, 1870. The 1900 census recorded him as born in April 1870. Unfortunately, I cannot find the family of his parents in the 1870 census, which might resolve the matter if it listed his age in months.
Notes for Martha Susan Ellen Bryant
There are two death certificates recorded for her.

The first records Martha Ellen Goodman, age 37, born 1875, died 6 May 1912 in Laurel precinct, Elliott Co., Ky, married, father James Bryant, mother’s maiden name Sis Fraley, cause of death pneumonia fever, informant blank, burial in Bryant Cemetery.

The second one is stamped “DELAYED”, and records Martha S. Goodman, age 37 years 2 months 6 days, born 21 March 1875 in Elliott Co., died 9 May 1912 in Brown precinct, Elliott Co., Ky, married, father James Bryant, mother’s maiden name Mary K. Fraley, both born in Elliott Co., cause of death peurperal fever, informant James Bryant, Elliottville, burial in Bryant Cemetery.
Census Notes for John Morgan & Martha Susan Ellen (Family)
1910 census of Elliott Co., Ky, precinct 8, lists on pp. 7A-7B as family #123/126:
Goodman, John, 40, farmer; Martha, wife, 35, first marriage for both, married 15 years, mother of 10 children, 9 living; Rusell, son, 14; Vesta, dau, 12; Mary, dau, 10; -- son, 8; Ida, dau, 6; Bertie, dau, 5; Hollie, son, 3; Olive, dau, 9/12. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The bottom two lines of page 7A are missing from the census image, presumably containing the lines for Milford and perhaps another child. A blurry partial line suggests that the line below Mary’s is for a son, either age 8 or 9, but none of the name is visible. (Ida through Olive are at the top of page 7B.) The preceding household is that of Martha’s parents.

1920 census of Elliott Co., Ky, Laurel precinct, enumerated 19 Jan, lists on p. 4A as family #57:
Goodman, John M., 48, widowed, b. Ky Va Ky, farmer; Russel, son, 24; Charlye, son, 20; Mary, dau, 18; Milford, son, 16; Ida, dau, 14; Bertie, dau, 12; Hollie, son, 10. All children born in Ky.

John has reversed the parent birthplaces - his father was really born in Ky and his mother in Va. Note that he ages for Mary, Ida, Bertie and Hollie are all about 2 years younger than those implied by the 1910 census. The truth is probably halfway between the two.
