Notes for Francis “Frank” Hopkins Lewis
His gravestone (a double stone with his first wife Amanda) says F. H. Lewis, May 4, 1850 - Feb 13 (or 18), 1912.

His death certificate records Francis Lewis, age 61 years 9 months 11 days, born 4 May 1850, died 14 Feb 1912 in Portsmouth, Scioto Co., Ohio, residence 230 Court St., married, occupation farming, father Thomas Lewis, born in Ky, mother’s maiden name don’t know, cause of death pulmonary tuberculosis, informant Agnes Lewis, Portsmouth, Ohio, burial in Morhead, Ky.

There was another Francis H. Lewis in Morgan Co. almost the same age (both listed as 10 in the 1860 census), son of Thomas Perry Lewis and Mary “Polly” Cogswell, so be careful not to get them confused. Identification of the one who married Amanda A. Harris and Agnes F. Moore being the one who was the son of Thomas and Margaret is based on a family group for Thomas and Margaret compiled during the 1940’s by Frank’s granddaughter Rissie (daughter of Thomas H. Lewis and Matilda Perry.)
Notes for Agnes Frances Moore
Her death certificate records Agnes Francis Lewis, age 90 years 9 months 8 days, born 13 Feb 1863 in McKee, Jackson Co., Ky, died 1 Nov 1953 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, residence same, widowed, father Cornelius Moore, mother’s maiden name America Jane Oney, cause of death Hemiplegia due to arteriosclerosis, informant Myrtle Gent, burial in Hamilton cemetery.

The mother’s maiden name conflicts with the marriage record for Cornelius and America, unless America had been previously married to a Quincy.
