Notes for James Harvey Clark
I cannot find James in the Kentucky death records. It may be that he died in late 1910 before statewide death recording began, or perhaps he is just misindexed somehow.
Notes for Mary Elizabeth Sparks
The J. W. Kegley Diary contains an entry in 1930 “Betty Clark died Thursday Jan 22 buried Jan 24”.

Her death certificate records Mary Elizabeth Clark, age 82 years 2 months 14 days, widowed, born 9 Nov 1848, died 23 Jan 1930 in Carter Co., Ky, father Thomas Sparks, mother’s maiden name Diannah Sparks, both born in Ky, cause of death organic heart disease, informant A. S. Clark, Grayson, Ky, burial in family cemetery.
Notes for James Harvey & Mary Elizabeth (Family)
I have no relationship to this family. The main reason they are in my database is that I do have a Clark line with a great many intermarriages with Deharts from Elliott Co., so the Minnie Dehart age 19 living with them in the 1900 census made me think they might be related. It appears they are not, though, since my Clark line moved to Morgan Co., Ky, from Tazewell Co., Virginia in 1840, while this James Clark’s parents were in Montgomery Co., Ky, long before that.
Census
1880 census of Elliott Co., Kentucky, Mocassin precinct, enumerated 10 June, lists on p. 16 as family #106:
Clark, J. H., 40; Mary E., wife, 31; Thomas W., son, 10; Allen, son, 8; Alexander C., 5; Robert H., 1; Austin K, 1/12, b. Feb. All born Ky Ky Ky.

In the disabilities column, it says “paralys” on J. H.’s line.

1900 census of Elliott Co., Ky, Sinking precinct, enumerated 6 June, lists on p. 3A as family #41:
Clark, James H., 61, b. Mar 1839; Mary E., wife, 51, b. Nov 1848, married 32 years, mother of 7 children, 7 living; Robert H., son, 21, b. June 1878; Austin K., son, 20, b. Feb 1880; Almedia F., dau, 10, b. July 1889; Dehart, Minta, servant, 19, b. June 1880, single. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The neighboring two households are headed by their sons Thomas age 30 and Allen age 28.

The 7 living children statistic, when there are only 6 mentioned in these two censuses, suggests that James and Mary had another child born between 1880 and 1900 who had already left home by then, most likely a daughter who married young.

1910 census of Elliott Co., Ky, Sinking precinct, enumerated 27 April, lists on p. 6A as family #89/92:
