Notes for David Marion McClain
Some online family trees give his year of birth as 1872, but he was listed as 6 in the 1880 census, and as age 24 born Aug 1875 in the 1900 census, so it was probably really later.

1910 census of Grady Co., Oklahoma, Chickasaw township, enumerated 15 April, lists on p. 1B at 501 Pennsylvania Ave., as family #13/20:
McClaine, David M., 38 (? see note below), b. Ky Ky Tenn, no occupation; Elizabeth, wife, 29, b. Ky Ky Ky, first marriage for both, married 15 years, mother of 5 children, 4 living; Ethel, dau, 12; Vesta, dau, 10; Lucy, dau, 4; Martha, dau, 3. All children born Ky Ky Ky.

The age for David looks like it may have either originally been entered as 28 and changed to 38 or vice versa - there is a dark 2 with what looks like a very light top loop of a 3 over it. I suspect that there also may have been an accidental line shift and that the mother’s birthplace of Tennessee may have been intended for Elizabeth.

They are sharing a household with the family of John D. Caskey age 58 (son of Miles Caskey of Morgan Co.) and his wife Martha E. (Mays) age 38, Elizabeth’s sister.

The family must have returned to Kentucky and then came back to Oklahoma, since their son Albert was born in Kentucky in 1914.
