Benjamin is listed as a son of Benjamin F. Johnson and Drucilla Phelps on dozens of family trees on Ancestry.com. I strongly suspect this of being a widely promulgated error, though, since Drucilla would have been 58 in 1822 if her 1774 birthdate is correct, and even if it is not, the documented 1793 marriage record suggests that she would have been at least 54. So it seems more likely that Ben Jr. is either a child of Ben Sr’s second marriage, to Sarah Moore born ca 1801, or else a grandson of Ben and Drucilla.
