His gravestone, a double one with his second wife, says Petitt, Bluford W., 1906 - 1977 ; Lydia, 1907 - 1975.

His obituary reported “Graveside services for Bluford William Petitt, 71, of North Bend, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park with the Rev. Marvin Wray of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of North Bend officiating.

Mr. Petitt, was born March 3, 1906 in Logan, Ohio, and died Aug 12 in Coos Bay. He had been a resident of the Bay Area for most of his life and was employed by Hillstrom Shipbuilders as a corker until his retirement.

His wife, Lydia, preceded him in death Aug 2, 1975. Survivors include a son, William Petitt of North Bend; a daughter, Maxine Redburn of Coos Bay, sisters Laura Toscamp of North Bend, Helen Edmonds of Montana, Florence Burlingcourt of Albany, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.”
