Notes for William H. Stevens
William appears in records with his surname spelled as both Stephens and Stevens. I am entering him under the latter spelling mainly because it is the one on his death certificate and the one used by his only surviving male line descendant, Oscar.

He may be the William Stevens whose draft registration card, filed 12 Sep 1918, recorded him as age 33, residence Unity, Boyd Co., Ky, born 30 March 1885, laborer for A. C. & I R.R., nearest relative William Stevens Sr., Stevens, Elliott Co., Ky.

His death certificate records William Stevens, age 75 years 6 months 12 days, born 16 May 1876 in Carter Co., Ky, died 28 Jan 1952 in Louisa General Hospital, Lawrence Co., Ky, usual residence Fort Gay, Wayne Co., West Virginia, occupation retired coal miner, father Henry Stevens, mother’s maiden name Annas Binyon, informant Mrs. Eula Stevens, cause of death cerebral hemorrhage due to generalized arteriosclerosis and hypertension, burial in Caroline Cemetery.

The reported age is likely to be off by about five years, since he was listed as age 19 born March 1881 in the 1900 census (taken in June), and as age 20 in April 1901 on his first marriage license, and he does not appear in the 1880 census with either parent.

Since William Stevens/Stephens is such a common name, and he apparently moved around quite a bit, and his reported age varies, I am unlikely to be able to identify him in any of the post-1900 censuses.
Notes for Nancy E. Kelley
The Kentucky death index lists Nancy E. Watson, age 86, died 19 May 1963 in Rowan Co., residence same.
Notes for William H. & Nancy E. (Family)
Carter Co., Ky marriage records list the marriage on 17 April 1901 of Wm Stephens, age 20, and Nancy Kelley, age 16.

I assume they were divorced between 1910 and 1920 because in the 1910 census Nancy is living with her parents and their children, listed as married but with no husband in the household, and in the 1920 census she has returned to her maiden name.

(I am not related to this family. I am entering them and their descendants into my database in response to a query from their great-granddaughter Susan Dehart York, daughter of Curtis Dehart and Eula Mae Gee, Eula being a daughter of Hattie Stevens and Walter Gee.)
Census
1910 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pine Grove precinct, lists with her parents Richard and Martha Kelley:
Stephens, Nancy E., dau, 24, first marriage, married 9 years; Stephens, Hattie M., granddau, 6; Martha J., granddau, 4; Oscar, grandson, 2. All except Richard born Ky Ky Ky.

1920 census of Rowan Co., Ky, Pine Grove precinct, enumerated 8 Jan, lists on p. 3B as family #46/50:
Kelley, Nancy E., 33, widowed, no occupation; Stevens, Hatie M., dau, 16; Martha J., dau, 14; Osker R., son, 12. All born Ky Ky Ky.

Although Nancy is listed as a widow, I suspect she was divorced, since she has returned to her maiden name.
