In the 1870 and 1880 censuses, he appears with his parents as Oliver P. Hollan, and his marriage record was also as O. P. Hollan, but in all later records he appears as Perry L. Hollan.

Hollan, age 67 years 6 months 3 days, born 28 Aug 1869 in Fleming Co., Ky, died 3 Mar 1937 in Morehead, Rowan Co., Ky, married, husband of Lilly Hollan, occupation lumber man at saw mill, father James Hollan, born in Fleming Co,. Ky, mother’s maiden name Amy E. Henderson, birthplace don’t know, cause of death cerebral hemorrhage due to hypertensive heart disease, informant wife, Morehead, Ky, burial in Caudill Cem, Morehead.

The death date is from her gravestone, which is inscribed Lillie Hollan, 1876 - 1949. I cannot find her in the Kentucky death records. She probably died out of state, perhaps in New Castle, Henry Co., Indiana, where her sons James and Fred were both living in 1949.
