His obituary in the Owingsville Outlook reported:

“War Veteran Dies Monday - Everett C. Collins, 32, died at his home near here at 6:30 p.m. Monday. A veteran of World War II, he served overseas and was discharged after he was taken ill.

He was a son of Clarence Collins and the late May Meadows Collins.

Survivors, besides his father, include his wife, Mrs. Lottie Clark Collins; one brother, Fred Collins, Bath County; one sister, Mrs. Kenneth Edwards, Eolia, Mo.; a half-brother, Ronald Ray Collins, Bath Count; a half-sister, Wilma Collins, Bath County; his step-mother, Mrs. Emily Hatton Collins, Bath County, and his grandmother, Mrs. Docia Collins, this county.

Funeral services were head at the residence at 2 o’clock this afternoon, conducted by the Rev. George C. Frey, pastor of the Owingsville Christian Church. Burial was in the Jackson graveyard with veterans of world war II acting as pall bearers.”
