Notes for Peter Collins
His death certificate records Pete Collins, age 76 years 10 months 0 days, born 7 Apr 1856 in Bath Co., Ky, died 7 Feb 1933 in Ashland, Boyd Co., Ky, widowed, late wife Martha Collins, father Pad Collins, mother’s maiden name Eliza Manley, both born in Ky, cause of death lobar pneumonia, informant Henry Goldie, Ashland, Ky, burial in Ashland Cemetery.

If his father is the same Pad Collins (1833-1914) who married Julia Ann Donaldson in 1853, then Peter must have been born out of wedlock.
Notes for Martha E. Hunt
Her death certificate records Mrs. Martha Collins, age 62, born March 1854 in Ky, died 12 Dec 1916 in Owingsville, Bath Co., Ky, widowed, father Jerry Hunt, mother’s maiden name Daily, both born in Ky, cause of death cancer of womb, informant John E. Snedegar, Salt Lick, Ky, burial in Old Virginia graveyard.

The parental information is most likely wrong. The only Jeremiah Hunt I can find of the right generation is the one who married Margaret Sapp, and their daughter Martha J. Hunt (5 Oct 1855 - 1 Apr 1934) married only once, to James S. Boyd. This Martha Hunt may be the daughter of Lewis Hunt and Amanda Dailey, who were married 11 Jan 1847 in Bath Co. Amanda died in 1856, and Lewis remarried to Martha Perkins. There is no daughter of the right age with Lewis and Martha in the 1860 census, but since any child born in 1855 would have been an infant when Amanda died, the baby Martha may have been fostered out.
