In 1870 he was recorded in Levee precinct, Montgomery Co., Ky, as Reuben Parsons, 15, farm hand, b. Kentucky, with the family of Wellsley and Emily O’Rear, both age 60.

Her death certificate records Martha Ann Meeks, age 75 years 3 months 2 days, born 30 Apr 1861 in Ky, died 2 Aug 1936 in Salt Lick, Bath Co., Kentucky, widow of Chester Milton Meeks, father Andrew Maze, mother’s maiden name Harriett Bohannon, both born in Ky, cause of death cerebral hemorrhage accompanied by paralysis of side of body, contributory cause high blood pressure, informant William Meeks, Salt Lick, Ky, burial in Maze Cemetery.

I cannot find this family in the 1880 census. They were probably already married, since Martha is not recorded with her parents in 1880. In 1900 she is recorded with her second husband Chester Meeks, and four Parsons children.

Parson, Saml B, stepson, 18, b. Aug 1881; Andrew J., stepson, 13, b. Sep 1886; Viola L., stepdau, 9, b. Mar 1891; Bertha J., stepdau, 7, b. Feb 1893. All born Ky Ky Ky.

The number of living children for Martha suggests that there is another Parson child, probably born in 1880, although a daughter born between Samuel and Andrew might already be married.
