This is the only record I’ve seen that attaches an initial “S” to Milton’s name. Maybe a misheard “Milton Chess”?

Meeks, Chester M., 50, jointer at stave mill; Marth A., wife, 58; Earl F., son, 19; Stone, son, 17; Gordon, son, 15. All born Ky Ky Ky.
1930 census of Bath Co., Ky, Salt Lick precinct, enumerated 16 April, lists on p. 5A as family #302/307, on Railroad St:
Meeks, Chester, 60, age at first marriage 25, no occupation; Martha, wife, 69, age at first marriage 17; William, son, 33, laborer at saw mill; William Jr., grandson, 9. All born Ky Ky Ky.
William’s wife Lorraine and their two children are in the next household (#303/308) with her mother and sister, making one wonder if the two households should have been recorded with the same dwelling number.
