Her obituary in the Morehead News of 3 April 2013 reported:

“Edna DeHart Hinton Stevens, 52, of Durham, N.C., formerly of Morehead, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Born on Sept. 4, 1960, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse DeHart and Nellie Trent DeHart. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harlan DeHart.

Edna is survived by two sons, Mark Hinton and wife Amy of Troy, N.H., and Jesse Hinton and wife Lacy of Morehead; one daughter, Rebecca Maloy of Youngsville, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Ally Wall, Brice Maloy, Isaac Maloy, Josey Hinton and Bruce Hinton. Other survivors include six brothers, Ray DeHart, Eddie DeHart and wife Jamie, Garritt DeHart, Wayne DeHart, William Paul DeHart and Coy DeHart, all of Morehead; and one sister, Chelma Hall and husband Don of Morehead.

At her request, there will be no funeral services.”
