1850 census of Carroll Co., Va, lists family #391:
John Quesenberry 27, farmer, $500; Elizabeth 33; Mary Ann 4; Sarah 3. All b. in Va. John P. Alderman adds in his annotations "John, son of Thomas and Tobitha (Cock) Quesenberry, was raised on Snake Creek and married Elizabeth Gardner in 1844. Elizabeth (b. 1816 in Franklin Co.) was the dau of James and Tobitha (Martin) Gardner. There were four children."
1860 census of Carroll County, VA, Gladesborough P.O., taken in July, lists this family as:
Quisenberry, John 37, Elizabeth 43, Mary A.g. (?) 14, Sarah J. 13, Tabitha E. 9, John B. F. 3, all born in VA.
1870 census of Carroll Co., Virginia, Laurel Fork district, Hillsville P.O., p. 55, lists as family #117/118 (next door to Thomas and Tabitha Quesinberry):
