Notes for Henry J. Myers
In the 1880 census Mary Adeline (Myers) Riddle lists her father's place of birth as New York. Since this is rather tenuous evidence, and my database program does not have a facility for marking entries as possible/probable, I am just leaving it blank for now. The place of death is also only probable.
Henry Myers was listed in Bath Co. in the 1830 census in the male older than 55 category, which is why his birth is listed as before 1775, but not in the 1840 census of Bath Co. He could have moved rather than died, though.
Census
There are two Henry Myers families in the 1820 census of Bath Co., KY:
On p. 16, near Bloomfield, is a family with 1 male 45 up, 1 female 26-44, 1 male 26-44, 1 male 16-18, 1 male 10-15, 1 male under 10, 2 females 16-25, and 2 females 10-15. This age distribution suggests a family headed by a couple in their early 40's, with the father of the husband or wife living with them. Since Mary Adeline Myers would have been 9 going on 10 at the time of the 1820 census, she is probably one of the 2 younger girls in this family.
On p. 37, near Owingsville, is a family with 1 male 45 up, 1 female 45 up, 1 male 19-25, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 0-9, and 2 females 16-25. This age distribution suggests a couple in their late forties or early fifties, with a teenage son and daughter, and either a recently married son and his wife and baby boy, or a son and daughter in their 20's and a son about 9.
