Notes for Peter Slusher
Christopher Slusher deeded 200 acres on Miry Fork of Greasy Creek to his son Peter on 20 Oct 1834.
Papers of Jacob S. Harmon included a receipt dated March 12, 1870 for the amount of $4.00 for making Peter Slusher's coffin.
Notes for Celia White
Floyd County Death Records list death of Celia Slusher, 26 Nov 1858. Cause of death: dropsey. Age: 67 yrs 18 days. Parents: Richard & F. White. Place of birth: Franklin Co., VA. Husband (and informant): P. Slusher. (Celia's date of birth in my database is calculated from her age at death on this record.)
Notes for Peter & Celia (Family)
Peter Slusher signed a bond to marry Celia White, dau. of Richard White (he also signed), 2 Nov 1812 in Montgomery Co. VA. This is listed in the IGI (Batch 8726604, sheet 74) as the date of marriage, but it probably isn't.

The younger children are Joseph, Mary and Martha. It is unknown who the m 10-16 is, as Peter and Celia had been married not quite 8 years, and their only known son is Joseph.

Peter Slusher, 75; Mahala, 18; Peter, 16. All born in Virginia.
I don't know why Mahala and Peter are living with their grandfather. Their parents (Joseph H. Slusher and Nancy Wade) and siblings were living in Morgan Co., Kentucky at the time of this census.
The next household is that of Peter’s brother Solomon.
