Some researchers show the maiden name of Reuben’s wife as Phillips, but I have not seen any source for that attribution. It may indeed be correct (I have no evidence to the contrary), but there is so much erroneous family tradition in the Carroll County families that I do not wish to propogate it without some evidence.
