This Isaac appears in some records as Isaac Wade, Jr., but that is to distinguish him from his uncle (who coincidentally also married a Martha.)
Census
I cannot find any 1900 or 1910 census record for Isaac (not even in jail), so he either died in prison or moved out of state.
Notes for Mary Jane Phillips
Her name appears in many publications (e.g., Elza Cox’s Genealogy of William Tobias Phillips) as Sarah Jane Phillips, but she is identified in those accounts as a daughter of William M. Phillips and Eliza Jane Montgomery. And the 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses agree that the only daughter William and Eliza had in 1851 or 1852 was named Mary Jane. They had no daughter named Sarah unless it was one who did not survive through any census year.
Whatever her name, Isaac was convicted of killing her with an axe.
Floyd County Court Order Book 11, p. 135, records Isaac Wade, residence Floyd Co., white, 5'9 1/4", gray hair, gray eyes, born in Floyd Co., age 60 years, occupation farmer, convicted of murder in 2nd degree in County Court, May 12, 1898, sentenced to 10 years.
