Notes for Amos "Ballard" Quesenberry
Dates of birth, death, & marriage from pedigree chart for Mary Frances Quesenberry Kell.
Notes for Paulina Malina Phillips
Her given name is also sometimes seen as Melina, Maline, Pauline, Perlina, Palina, and Polina. They were probably all variants on the same name, following the common pattern of using P as a familiar form of M in feminine names, such as Polly for Mary, Patsy for Martha, Peggy for Margaret, etc.

Cemeteries of Carroll Co., VA, p. 14, from which her dates of birth and death are taken. Note that the date of birth, 3 May 1842, is in conflict with that on her brother Obediah’s gravestone, which is given as 14 Dec 1842. One of the stones must have the wrong birth year. Census records suggest that it is Paulina’s date that is correct, and Obediah’s that is wrong. (See his notes.)
Notes for Amos "Ballard" & Paulina Malina (Family)
Ballard and Malina were first cousins, as Malina's father and Ballard's mother were siblings.
