It mentions his wife Ally, his sons Bradley, Anderson, John, Casleton, and Royal, and daughters Susanna Hale, Dorothea Troupe, and Mary Wade. His executors were Thomas Jones, Jr. and William Akers. The witnesses were John Mavety and John Frazier. His estate was inventoried on 11 Dec 1798.

Carolyn D. Bruce wrote in a CompuServe Roots Forum message posted 25 Oct 1994, "Seeking info. on ancestry of Angelica WADE, b. ca. 1719, possibly St. James Parish, Goochland Co., VA, dau. John(?). Had one child John Utley WADE, b. ca. 1739, out of wedlock by John UTLEY, Jr. Her son m. Alice "Alley" WOODRUM (dau. John) in Goochland Co., later moved with large family to Franklin Co., VA where they lived out their lives. Have heard this WADE family desc. from Nicholas of Scituate, MA, but have not connected. The info. I have on John Utley WADE's parentage is from photocopies I got from the clerk's office in Goochland. Parish records show that John UTLEY, Jr. was called before the parish where he admitted paternity and posted a ten Pound bond to guarantee support for the child so that he would not become the responsibility of the parish. "
