In 1930 Troy was listed as age 73 in Jackson Co., Indiana with his son Hiram. His marital status was given as married, but his wife was not in the household.

Rowan Co. birth records on LDS microfilm #216839 list birth of Sarah C. Ham on 4 Jan 1856, on Rock Fork of Triplett Creek, parents Smith Ham and Martha Hefland. (Her middle name was really Amanda; the “C” is probably due to the county clerk misreading an “A” on the record submitted by the midwife or doctor.)
