Pillips (sic), Ballard P., 37, farming; Manda, 35, wife; Catie, 17, dau; Wm Norman, 9, son; Suse Ann, 7, dau; Alfred, 5, son; Ballard, 2, son. All born Va Va Va.
(The census taker apparently was writing too fast and left out the h in Phillips.) The preceding household is headed by Ballard’s brother Peter, and the following one by his brother Thomas.
