Family on p. 73, Genealogy of William Tobias Phillips. On p. 23 of the same book is a statement that Marion claimed Mahlon as his father, but some people say that he was really the son of Tobias L. Phillips, Jr., as was his sister, or half-sister, Elizabeth Jane.
