Slusher, Lewis H., 39, farmer; Sarah, 39; Julia Ann, 16; Margaret Susan, 9; Harvey, 5; Ala Ann 2; Cox, Nancy, 76. All born in Virginia. (Nancy is Lewis’s mother. She remarried to Luke Cox in 1853 and then he died in 1862.)
1880 census of Floyd Co., Virginia, Jacksonville township, enumerated 24 June, lists on p. 41 as family #386:
Slusher, Lewis H., 49, farmer; Sarah, 49, wife; Harvey, 15, son; Alla Ann 12; Slusher, Nancy, 86, mother. All born in Virginia. (It appears that Nancy went back to using the name Slusher. She died 2 days after this census was taken.)
