Notes for Mattie Sorrell
Her death certificate records Mattie Ramey, age 23 years 9 months 10 days, born 15 Oct 1892 in Bath Co., Ky, died 10 Oct 1915 in Bath Co., Ky, married, father Henry Sorrell, mother’s maiden name Lizzie Norris, cause of death malaria & typhoid fever, informant Roe McCarty, Salt Lick, Ky, burial in Alley Cemetery.
The birthdate is probably incorrect; she was listed as age 11 born Dec 1888 in the 1900 census, although that conflicts with the birthdate of May 1889 given in that same census for her brother Claude, and as age 21 in the 1910 census (when Claude was listed as 19.) Either Mattie was born in late 1887, or Claude was really born in 1890.
