Notes for Willis E. Manley
His death certificate records Willis E. Manly, age 68, birthdate don’t know, born in Ky, died 6 May 1930, residence 741 Whitney Ave., Lexington, Ky, widowed, father Peter Manly, mother’s maiden name Martha Lyons, both born in Ky, cause of death interstitial nephritis, informant Mrs. Manley, Lexington, Ky, burial in Lexington Cemetery.
The informant is probably Ernest’s wife Neoma. Martha is really his stepmother, not his mother.
Census
In 1920 he was listed as Willias Manley, age 64, widowed, boarder, with his son Mark.
In 1930 he was listed as Willis Manley, age 68, father, widowed, with his son Ernest.
Notes for Hannah C. Pettit
Her death certificate records Mrs. Hanora Manley, age 59 years 8 months, born 20 Mar 1859 in Bath Co., died 19 Jan 1919 in Mt. Sterling, Levee precinct, Montgomery Co., Ky, married, father Andy Petitt, mother’s maiden name Mrs. Christner Staton, both born in Bath Co., cause of death cancer of uterus (epthelioma), informant Earnest Manley, Mt. Sterling, burial in Mt. Sterling.
She was listed in the 1860 census as age 2 and the 1870 census as age 12, so the birthdate is probably off by one year.
Census Notes for Willis E. & Hannah C. (Family)
