The birth record index at Kentucky Vital Statistics Dept in Frankfort lists Arthur's birth twice. The index is by child name and mother's maiden name. The first entry, an original certificate filed in 1912, is indexed as Arthur Pettit to Mollie Owens on 25 July 1912 in Rowan Co. The second, filed in 1942, is indexed as Arthur Petitt to Mollie Evans on 25 July 1913 in Rowan Co. I imagine the second was intended as a correction to the first, either for the spelling of his own last name or his mother’s maiden name, but they got the birth date wrong. The birthdate of 25 July 1913 is the one he used as an adult, but the 1912 one must be correct.

Millard says that Arthur's children are Joyce, Kenneth, Roger, and one more son and daughter, and that they live in Washington Courthouse, Ohio. According to his sister Zonie’s April 1994 obituary, he was still living there at that date.
