Connie died in an auto accident. She was a nurse going to work and hit a spot of ice and spun around, and collided with another nurse leaving from work at the same hospital. The other nurse was injured and survived, but Connie died instantly. She had just completed all the work for her Master's Degree in DNA research, and was awarded the degree posthumously.
