His gravestone has his birthdate as 7 Feb 1825, but most early census records are consistent with a later date. (He was listed as age 23 in 1850, 31 in 1860, 47 in 1870, and 54 in 1880.)

Possibly a brother of Hiram Ingram born ca 1805 who married Julia Staton.

In 1850 he was recorded in Fleming Co. with Elzabeth’s parents as John Ingham, 23, laborer, born in Ky.

In 1900 he was listed with his daughter Dura Fenton and her husband William S. Stevens, as John Ingram, age 75, born March 1825, Ky Ky Ky, widowed, farmer.

1860 census of Rowan Co., Ky, lists Elizabeth and two of her sisters as family #357:
Elizabeth Martin, 30, tavern keeper, $1500 real property, $750 personal; George Ann, 21; Sarrilda, 19; M. L. Cassity, 6, (m). All born in Kentucky.

Neighbors are John Ingram, 31, whom Elizabeth later married, and R. G. Scott, 43.

The child in this household is Martin Luther Cassity, the son of Elizabeth’s sister Huldah, who married John Armstrong Cassity and died in Jun 1854 when Martin was only 8 months old. John A. Cassity was still living, but without a wife he elected to have Huldah’s sister raise the baby.

1870 census of Rowan Co., Cross Roads precinct, lists as family #60:
James Ingram, 47, farmer; Elizabeth, 35; Julia, 9; Serilda Martin, 25, domestic servant; Martin Cassiday, 18, farm laborer. All born in Kentucky.

(I don’t know whether his name was really John James Ingram, or whether I just misread the census when taking these notes.)

1880 census of Rowan Co., Licking City precinct, lists as family #41:
John Ingram, 54, farmer; Elizabeth, 49, wife; Fentie, 19, dau; Zerilda Martin, 38, sister-in-law. All born Ky Ky Ky.
